Ellis & Associates provides swimming pool inspection services for new construction and existing attractions. Our swimming pool inspection includes a detailed look at the entire pool and associated equipment, providing an additional layer of risk management for aquatic facilities.
In general, E&A’s swimming pool inspection service is a formal evaluation of the physical condition of the pool and the operating procedures/protocols; it includes a summary evaluation of necessary administrative items and documentation.
What Can I Expect from a Pool Inspection?
The swimming pool inspection services provide clients with recommendations of items that need further evaluation for potential risk exposure mitigation. The inspection process also seeks to determine if the attraction/pool is compliant with established criteria based upon published standards and best practices, while also documenting items that are compliant or in good condition.
The E&A staff member conducting the swimming pool inspection will look to evaluate the condition of the attraction/pool properly, as well as the condition of the ancillary areas/devices related to the attraction and its operation. A walkthrough of the attraction and documentation of the conditions present at the time of inspection will be conducted as they relate to the established swimming pool inspection criteria. The inspector will also collaborate with the management team to review/evaluate administrative items associated with the attraction to confirm all operational processes and necessary documentation is present and appropriate.
Another aspect of the swimming pool inspection involves discussions with the operator to discuss and confirm items specified in the Model Aquatic Health Code safety plan have been addressed.
This discussion includes:
- The staffing plan (number and placement of lifeguards, rotation plan, safety team identification and roles, supervision)
- The Emergency Action Plan (EAP)
- Bio-hazard action plan
- Pre-service training plan
- In-service training plan
At the conclusion of the swimming pool inspection, the inspector will conduct a review of the swimming pool inspection findings, see below for what's included in the swimming pool inspection.
